Can I stay during the lesson?
Yes! You may stay as long as it doesn't interfere with the lesson. In fact, it is advisable to stay so you know what is being taught and how to help your student.

Parents should demonstrate their support for their students’ piano endeavors by attending recitals and helping with the practicing at home. If you banish them to another room or tell them not to make noise it will be even harder for them to want to practice. You should act like a cheerleader and participate in motivation by being interested in what they are playing and listening actively. In this way you are the most effective secret weapon in your students’ attitude toward lessons. People like to do what they think they are good at. Encourage them!
There are many different forms of motivation that I try to employ to help your student, such as recitals, rewards, encouragement, and counseling. It is helpful to know what you think about how your student is motivated.
